Are Eyeglasses for Me?

Types of Contact Lenses

Contact lenses may be your choice if you require corrected eyesight to see more clearly throughout your day.  Maybe you don’t like changing out glasses, or feeling something on your face.  If you are happy with your contact lenses, do you even need a pair of eyeglasses?  We think so!

If you are visiting the eye doctor with regularity, you might discover that your prescription has changed over the years that you’ve required vision correction.  If you have a pair of eyeglasses that contains an old prescription, you might be setting yourself up for headaches when you need to don your glasses.  Many people opt for contacts during the day and then return to their glasses during the morning and night. Others just do what they feel, and switch between glasses and contacts regularly based on their daily activity or even the weather (cleaning off glasses in the rain can be a pain). The point is, there’s really no right choice between the two, and in fact, choosing both nets you the best eyesight and comfort.

As we mentioned, if you’re a regular contact lens wearer, you might be used to popping your lenses in once you wake up and wearing them until you get ready for bed.  If that sounds like you, when is the last time you had a pair of eyeglasses made for you?  Even if you’re not regularly wearing eyeglasses, you may experience blurriness and eye strain, which could worsen your vision symptoms (like headaches, yuck!) if you’re counting on that pair of eyeglasses from the year 2000 to do the job when you have to wear them. Wearing an outdated pair of glasses with an expired prescription is like wearing an incorrect size for your shoes.  Consulting with your eye doctor about your options is a great place to start.  One great feature of Suburban Opticians is the ability to bring a prescription in to get started.  Exams onsite are not required as long as the prescription is not expired.

Our eye care experts will likely have a few questions for you to include: Do you have any concerns about your vision? Have you had any significant lifestyle changes since your previous exam? How have your computer habits or screen time changed since your last visit?

The personal touch of Suburban Opticians will stand out right away.  Outfitting individuals with the right eyeglass and contact lens solutions is our specialty.  If it’s been a while since you’ve tried on some eyeglasses, we encourage you to come in even just to browse.  You’ll be surprised at our inventory, and you’ll receive the personal attention that you need when making a decision that pairs fashion with function.

The Suburban Opticians difference revolves around a superior level of eye care, uncompromising service, tremendous selection of distinctive eyewear, and exceptional professional expertise, which is all centered on our patients’ care, comfort, and style.  We want you to leave looking and feeling your best.  Come see us today for a full experience, and leave ready to take on the world looking your very best!
